It is with great sadness I announce the passing of Ailsa Mathiesen.

Ailsa was born in 1941 in Maryborough, Queensland. The 2nd of six girls. When she was eleven her father died. She was married and divorced three times and had a daughter with her first husband. She lived in Australia, Papua New Guinea and Germany.

Ailsa was a playwright, an author, a poet, an artist, and a philosopher in her own right. Some of her works include “Swallowing is a very private thing” and “Learning how to fly in metal cages”.

Ailsa was an independent, she had a brilliant mind, a love for the universe and all its creatures. Ailsa was an interesting and unique woman.

She was my mother.
