In Loving Memory of Gerard Barton Patterson.
Born 28 October 1950 – Passed 22 August 2025

Born in Sydney, our beloved brother, uncle, and friend passed away suddenly on 22 August 2025. A true character, he brought joy and laughter to everyone who knew him. His love for horse racing was matched only by his fondness for a good scotch and his fascination with watching satellites drift across the night sky. Often enjoyed at the same time.

He had a rare gift for humour and kindness, always able to find the silver lining and lift the spirits of those around him. To know him was to love him.

He leaves behind a family who adored him: his late brother Jack, brother Patrick, sisters Mary, Sheila, and Marcia, his in-laws, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. His memory will live on in all of us—and perhaps even in the spirited gallop of his namesake racehorse, Uncle Gerard, who we know will run like the wind in his honour.

Rest peacefully, Potch. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
